Rotherham United welcome Lincoln City for their first league visit to the New York Stadium and the Millers first home league game of the season.

The Millers, who dropped down from the Championship last season, have three points on the board after winning their first game last weekend away at Wimbledon.

City were promoted as League Two Champions at the end of last season and won their first game in League One at home to Accrington Stanley.

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne says that Lincoln have been very impressive over the last few seasons telling Radio Sheffield, ‘I knew they meant business when they ripped by captain off me eighteen months ago. They’ve got a winning mentality and are very much a footballing side. It will be a tough game.’

The Millers have injury worries over Dan Barlaser, Joe Mattock, Matty Osolunde and Kyle Vassell ahead of this clash and are definitely without Trevor Clarke and Billy Jones so numbers are down for the match day squad. It could mean that the likes of Jake Cooper could get a chance while the Millers Boss might ask players to play out of position at the back.

The Imps Manager Danny Cowley told Lincolnshire Live that his team will see a ‘top League One side’ in Rotherham saying, ‘We’re looking forward to it, but we know it’s going to be a huge challenge for the group.’

Danny Cowley will be without former Millers’ captain and fans’ favourite Lee Frecklington who is out with an injury as well as Tom Pett while Jason Shackell is out suspended.

Referee Lee Swabey takes charge of this game.

Kick-off is 3.00pm at the New York Stadium on Saturday.
