Rotherham United welcome Portsmouth for their next game at the New York Stadium.

After having last weekend’s game postponed for the Internationals the Millers start this game in fifth place with Pompey seven places and five points below.

The Millers last home league game was a three-nil Tuesday night win over Wimbledon while Portsmouth’s last away game saw them lose two-one at Burton.

After missing the last two games through injury defender Joe Mattock has been passed fit for the hosts on Saturday. Jamie Lindsay is definitely missing while they club will check on returning internationals  Shane Ferguson, Chiedozie Ogbene and Joshua Kayode before making a decision on their fitness.

Millers Manager Paul Warne told the Official Site that he knows Portsmouth will be organised both ‘on and off the ball’ saying, ‘they are good at set-pieces and want success this year so we will  have to be at our best to compete with them and impose our style of play.’

Portsmouth will be without winger Ronan Curtis who is out suspended while Paul Downing and Ellis Harrison are major doubts. But after a calf injury Connor Ogilvie is back in training and should be in the travelling squad.

Speaking to Hampshire Live Pompey Manager Danny Cowley said this is the toughest League One he’s known saying, ‘Look at Rotherham they have accumulated a Championship squad both in terms of quality and in terms of depth. They are an incredibly fit team who play fast and direct and it is up to us to be able to cope with that and exploit the areas that we think we can find to hurt them.’

The Referee for this game is Anthony Backhouse from Cumbria.
