Warne ‘We’ll Take The Point And Move On’

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne must have been frustrated in a different way after this afternoon’s draw at Huddersfield to the frustration he felt after Monday’s home loss to Wycombe.

A much better performance saw chance after chance go begging this afternoon as well as shots that hit the post which even had me growling at my laptop screen.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the goalless draw the Millers Boss said he hopes it isn’t the game that comes back to bite us.

‘I thought from the goalkeeper all the way to Smudge (Michael Smith) up top our performance was pretty excellent. And there are no complains about the performance but I’m hugely disappointed that we haven’t come away with three points. But we need to turn those performances into wins.’

I think all Millers fans are disappointed. And a performance like that deserves something but, again, you can’t have the chances we did and not score.

‘We get back on the bus,’ the Gaffer said, ‘and think that’s a point closer to where we want to be.’

Asked about the penalty that wasn’t given when Richard Wood was pushed in the back in the area, Warney said, ‘I’ve definitely seen them given. But, in fairness to the ref, he let a lot of physical play go for both sides today. And I prefer that.

‘We’ll take the point and move on.’

The players did play well this afternoon and, although Ben Wiles missed the one at the end of the game, I think he had a really good game today.
