Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne was really pleased with the Millers point against Middlesbrough last night.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the goalless draw the Millers Boss said he thought his team were ‘really good’ in and out of possession saying, ‘I thought the ball wasn’t out of play much in the first half which took it’s toll physically and there were a lot of tired legs towards the end.

‘Obviously, I’d have liked us to create more chances. Our set-pieces weren’t great but our overall effort was amazing and they should be really proud of their nights work. Away from home it was a pretty good performance and we limited a dangerous team to very few proper chances. But, tonight, we didn’t have that cutting edge.

‘I’m really pleased with our start. The players are really pleased and so they should be because they work really hard. The football club is in a nice place at the moment and we’ve got a lot of talent. As a club we have evolved a little, we keep trying to make little changes to the changing ground, trying to get more staff, trying to sign better or more experienced players. It isn’t easy. We are trying to compete against some ex-Premier League clubs but we try to get everything we can and it makes me proud to be the Manager of this team.

We are really pleased to be in the position we are.’

And so he should be. The Millers go into the International break in eighth place just a point behind QPR in sixth with a better goal difference and a game in hand plus just one league loss so far this season.

I really don’t think any Rotherham fans would have seen that at the start of the season.

Now, we’ve just got to hope that our International players come back fit with no injuries.
