The Stats – Millers Away At ‘Boro

|

Rotherham United came away from the Riverside with a point last night but what do those stats tell us.

Middlesbrough had fifty-six per cent of the possession and won sixty-four per cent of the duels in the air, which isn’t surprising really as we aren’t the biggest squad ever are we. There were eleven corners in the game the Millers having three of them.

Our passing accuracy came out at sixty-seven per cent and fifty-three per cent in our opponents half and we had seventy-four long passes to the hosts seventy. Attack wise we had just three , two outside the area, of which none were on target while ‘Boro had three shots on target from thirteen chances.

The Millers won seventy-one per cent of our tackles with fouls conceded coming out as fifteen for Rotherham and one less for Middlesbrough. There were three yellow cards shown in the game two of which went to Rotherham.

OK it wasn’t the prettiest of games which had been changed to a silly o’clock kick-off for Sky Sports. If it had been a 3pm start would we have taken more fans, made more noise? I’m betting the answer to that is ‘yes’.

But it’s another point away from home and another clean sheet which has to be something we can build on.

A break now before a quite hectic October where we have eight games.
