Warne Pleased To Get Target

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne is really pleased to have got his target Angus MacDonald over the line.

The twenty-seven year old signed a two year deal with the Millers at the weekend with the Millers Boss telling iFOLLOW that it was one he’d had ‘bubbling away’ for a few weeks and he is ‘an ideal addition’ to the squad.

‘He got offered a new deal at Hull,’ the Gaffer said, ‘but he wanted to play in the Championship. He’s got real fire in his belly and it’s just a matter of getting him up to the fitness of the rest of the group.’

There are going to be a lot of mid-week games for the Millers in the Championship this coming season, not including cup runs, and I think it’s good that we have some experience coming into the club as well as the fact that we are getting more cover in making it a bigger squad.

Angus himself says that he is ‘fully up for the task ahead’ also saying that as soon as he knew the Millers were interested he was happy.

Here at Vital Rotherham we are also happy after seeing video’s of Angus. He looks very quick and mobile and we have been told that one of his traits is being able to put the ball onto a strikers foot.

A centre-back had to be a must as far as I was concerned especially hearing that Michael Ihiekwe is still having knee pain plus Clark Robertson has a broken foot while Curtis Tilt isn’t expected to be playing until at the earlier October so now having Angus in to partner Richard Wood can only be a good thing.
