Time For A Win?

Rotherham United haven’t won a game of football since New Years Day which is probably one of the reason they are in the position in the table they are.

In fact, in January that was the only points we actually got. But February looks a lot brighter. OK, on the negative hand we haven’t won any games but, on the positive hand, we haven’t lost any either.

Five games in February saw five draws – one of those keeping a clean sheet (at Millwall).

The last two games which were away at Reading and at home in the South Yorkshire derby when neighbours Sheffield Wednesday were in town we, in my humble opinion, started the better. Yet, both the Royals and the Owls went in front.

On the other hand we pulled back to get draws – might even got a win against our neighbours (but lets forget about that now!). As we did at Hull who went two up with the disappointing game in February, for me, being Wigan at the New York Stadium who, after we went in front, we let straight back into the game.

But, all in all, I think our lads are fighters – they keep going and, to be honest, I don’t think we can ask much more than that.

Saturday sees us start the month of March with a home game against Blackburn Rovers – another ‘must win’ game – against a side who have just one point to show from their last four games but who are seven places above us.

Would I be happy with a point? No, of course I won’t be BUT I will be happy if the lads have played to their full potential. And if that’s how it pans out then I’ll just have to have a quick grumble about two points dropped and go on to thinking about the next game.
