Rotherham United Manager Matt Taylor saw his side battle to get an away point at Norwich this afternoon.

Speaking after the goalless draw the Miller Boss told the Official Site he said it had been a good Easter, saying, ‘When you looked at the games going into the Easter weekend, West Brom at home and Norwich away, I’d have snatched your hand off for four points.

‘It’s been two different types of display. We were dominant on Friday and today we had to withstand pressure and we defended really well as a team. We created an opportunity early in the game but, in all honesty, we didn’t create much after that. We want to attack but we were up against a good team today and we couldn’t always get to grip with their mobile players.

‘I was more comfortable defending set-pieces than I was in open play. In open play they’ve got some serious quality that can hurt. Defensively the whole team put in a shift.

‘We’ve had three positive performances on the bounce, conceded one goal which was a penalty and we are certainly pleased with where we are at but we’ve got to keep backing that up with points and performances.’

The latest injury news is that Viktor Johansson picked up a shoulder injury in training. Unfortunately, it’s not looking good for him and he is looking to have a scan in the next forty-eight hours.

‘Josh Vickers was thrown in yesterday and will have been a bit nervous, a bit rusty but he performed outstandingly well. And we need whoever is in the goals to keep doing that and keep the ball out of the net,’ Matt said. ‘I’m delighted for Josh, he trains better than anyone and deserves to play while Viktor has been our player of the season by far.’

Saying he was pleased the fans were part of the game again today, the Boss said, ‘And we’ll keep needing them. I can guarantee in the next six games there will be ups and downs but they’ve got to stick with us and keep in good voice.’
