Sadlier Signs In

|

Rotherham United have brought in former West Ham youth player Kieran Sadlier from neighbours Doncaster Rovers on a two year deal – subject to EFL and FA ratification.

The midfielder came through the Youth ranks firstly with Cambridge United then at Upton Park and became a regular player in the Hammers U21 side without ever making it to the first team. In February 2015 he moved North of the Border to St Mirren but only stayed until the end of the season wanting to be nearer his family and July saw him join Peterborough.

He played in just one game for the Posh going out on loan to Halifax for three months. Kieran then moved to Ireland in January with Sligo Rovers ending the season as joint top scorer going on to play around fifty times.

July 2017 saw him join Cork City helping them to the FAI Cup Final where the game went to penalties Kieran scoring the winning one. His second season with the League of Ireland club saw him top goalscorer with twenty-six goals and saw him in the FAI history books when he became the first player since 1974 to score in every round of the FAI cup.

December 2018 saw Kieran move back to England with Doncaster Rovers, his first two games being in the FA Cup with him going on to make fifty-nine appearances for Rovers, forty of those last season one of which was against the Millers in September. Kieran scored twelve goals last season adding to the three the previous season.

The twenty-five year old has caps for the Republic of Ireland at U15, U16, U19 and U21 levels.

All at Vital Rotherham welcome Kieran to the New York Stadium.
