Quick Preview – Millers v Wycombe

|

Rotherham United welcome fellow relegated side Wycombe Wanderers to the New York Stadium tonight for their next League One game.

While the Millers start this game in fifth place, their last home game at the weekend being a four-one win over Portsmouth with Wanderers three points better off in second place and their last away game was on Saturday which saw them beat Doncaster Rovers two-nil.

Coming into this game with four wins the Millers will be hoping to make this a fifth win in a row while the Chairboys last away league loss was in September at MK Dons.

Speaking to the Official Site First Team Coach Matt Hamshaw says he expects Wycombe Wanderers to ‘be up there’ at the end of the season saying, ‘Gareth (Ainsworth) has done an unbelievable job and they have got a brilliant squad. It will be a tough game for us.’

The Millers are waiting on news of Michael Ihiekwe who limped off early in the second half on Saturday while goalkeeper Viktor Johansson is also a doubt.

Wycombe Boss Gareth Ainsworth told their Official Site that he has a lot of respect for the Millers saying, ‘they have just beaten Portsmouth comfortably which is no mean feat and we will know we will have to be at our best.’

Although scoring on Saturday it could be that Adebayo Akinfenwa will start this game on the bench with Sam Vokes starting.

Robert Madely from West Yorkshire is in the middle for this game.
