Rotherham United welcome Sheffield Wednesday to the New York Stadium for the South Yorkshire derby tomorrow.

Both clubs are sitting in the bottom two spots of the Championship coming into this game, the Millers thirteen points worse off.

The Millers will be pushing for a first win since their victory over Middlesbrough at home on Boxing Day while the Owls last away game saw them get a two-nil win over Millwall.

Leam Richardson, Rotherham’s Head Coach, spoke to Radio Sheffield saying it’s a game they are all looking forward to. ‘You know what local derbies are and you want to be on the positive side. It’s for the fans and everyone involved in the football club, the bragging rights, everything. We are looking forward to Saturday and want to make sure we give a really strong account of ourselves against our local rivals. But we will be more focused on ourselves than on them and we want to win ninety-nine per cent of those duels and impose ourselves on the game.’

Injuries to Daniel Ayala, Tyler Blackett, Cohen Bramall and Grant Hall keep them out of this derby but Ollie Rathbone should be back in contention after last weekend saw him miss out due to concussion protocol. Sam Clucas and Cameron Humphries are doubts.

Speaking to their Official Site Owls Manger Danny Rohl, whose first win in charge was against the Millers, said, ‘It is perhaps the toughest away game we will have and for us, it’s about going there with a clear mindset. I am very positive because we have a lot of players who are hungry for this game. They (Rotherham) have nothing to lose which means they will fight in every duel, they will create and will want energy from the stands to the pitch.

Our visitors will be without Josh Windass who is thought to have a muscle problem while Callum Patterson hasn’t played since Boxing Day. Former Miller Michael Ihiekwe is a doubt and Di’Shon Bernard is out suspended.

David Webb from Lancashire has the whistle for this game.
