Rotherham United take the short trip to West Yorkshire for Saturday’s game at Elland Road against Leeds United.

Sitting pretty at the top of the play-off places in the Championship table Leeds come into this on the back of two away wins – the first in the league which saw them beat Bristol City one-nil and the last a mid-week cup replay at Plymouth which Leeds won four-one in extra time.

Bottom of the pack Rotherham’s only game this month was last Saturday which saw Southampton talking all three points home from the New York Stadium with a two-nil win.

The Millers last away game was a one-all draw at Middlesbrough with Leeds’ last home game a one-all draw with Plymouth in the Cup, their last home league game seeing them beat Norwich City one-nil and will be hoping Saturday sees them extend their unbeaten run to nine matches.

Leeds United Manager Daniel Farke said that the game away against Rotherham in November was ‘a difficult fixture.’ Speaking to the clubs YouTube account Farke said, ‘It is one of the most experienced sides in this league and of their last few fixtures they have had draws and any loss was by one goal or a maximum of two goals. But in these types of games you have to make sure you win the points but we are well aware and well prepared for a difficult game.’

Hosts Leeds are hopeful that Wilfried Gnonto will be available for this game after limping off minutes after opening the scoring for Leeds on Tuesday night. It’s also hoped that Jack Shackleton, who missed the mid-week through illness will be better but Pascal Struijk, Karl Darlow, Dan James and Stuart Dallas will all be missing.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield Rotherham’s Head Coach Leam Richardson said that Leeds have a ‘purposeful season ahead of them’ saying, ‘they carry a real threat going forward, have a lot of goals in the team and it will be a really strong challenge for us but one we are looking forward to. Fingers crossed we can give a good account of ourselves and are hopeful of a strong result. As a coach I’ve been quite successful at Elland Road so fingers crossed we can repeat that but it will only be a good day if we have a strong performance and a positive result.’

Cohen Bramall, Tyler Blackett, Grant Hall, Daniel Ayala and Andre Green will all be missing for the Millers but Cameron Humphreys was fit enough to be on the bench for the Southampton game and should travel to Elland Road. The Milllers signed three loan players late on the last day of the January transfer window in Charlie Wyke, Andy Rinomhota and Femi Seriki and it’s thought that all three will be in the squad while Shane Ferguson could travel and could get his first minutes on the pitch since last May due to injuries.

Andy Madley from West Yorkshire has the whistle for this game.
