Rotherham United’s last four games were at home and even this one is in South Yorkshire when they travel over to take on Barnsley at Oakwell.

Barnsley come into this game in the play-off places after a win away at Huddersfield with their last home game being a two-nil win over Middlesbrough.

The Millers have lost their three of their four homes games with the win coming against Queens Park Rangers. Their last away game was at Huddersfield and was a goalless draw.

Valerien Ismael, the Barnsley Head Coach told the Yorkshire Post that he wants his players to be ‘ruthless’ in a bid to stay in the play-off positions. ‘It will be a tough game,’ the Frenchman said, ‘I like the mentality and the attitude of the manager (Paul Warne) and the way they play. It will be intense and Rotherham have to fight and we have to match that.’

Barnsley look like being without Dominik Frieser who has a hamstring injury with it likely that Daryl Dike will step in while former Miller Carlton Morris could drop to the bench as he has a slight groin problem.

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne told the Official Site that although it’s tough at the moment and an emotional rollercoaster he is still enjoying it saying, ‘We’ve had some really good performances this year and I think we are worthy of more points than we’ve collected and, if we do fall short, it is on me.’ Going on to talk about neighbours Barnsley the Gaffer said, ‘They have found a way to play that is successful for them. They want to turn you at every opportunity, put their set-pieces under the crossbar and want to compete with everything. For us to get anything we have to match their physicality, competitiveness and their running off-the-ball.’

The Millers will have Joe Mattock available after he started the game on Wednesday for the first time since December due to injury and coming off at half-time. Shaun MacDonald missed out through injury on Wednesday but should be fit for this game but after returning after a long lay off with a hamstring problem against Birmingham he missed out in mid-week and is a doubt for this game. But Rotherham will have Lewis Wing back in contention after not being able to play against his parent club Middlesbrough.  There is no official news as this goes to print on the appeal made on Matt Crooks’ red card in mid-week.

The referee is Gavin Ward from Surrey
