Rotherham United travel the short distance to Hillsborough on Sunday to take on neighbours Sheffield Wednesday for this 12 noon kick-off.

Coming into this game just below the play-off places Sheffield Wednesday have won all three league games so far in February their last home game seeing a Barry Bannan penalty give them all three points over Wigan – while also having the added attention of a cat on the pitch stopping the game for a few minutes.

The Millers sit top of League One and like the Owls have won every game while, also like Sunday’s hosts, have three clean sheets. Their last away game was on Tuesday at Wimbledon when a Joshua Kayode second half goal gave them the win.

Speaking to their Official Site Owls Manager Darren Moore says that South Yorkshire derbies mean a lot saying, ‘they are passionate affairs and mean a lot to the local area. They (Rotherham) are having a tremendous season and Paul (Warne) has put his stamp on the team. All the ingredients are there for a good, entertaining game at the weekend.’

Sheffield Wednesday have a number of players missing including Dominic Iorfa, Lewis Gibson, Chey Dunkley, Josh Windass and Lee Gregory

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne spoke to Radio Shefflied ahead of the South Yorkshire derby saying that both teams go into this on good form and both will be going for the win. ‘I think it’s going to be a game that’s down to one incident,’ Warne said, ‘a ‘keeper making a worldie save or one of the strikers of either team takes a chance but I do see it being a high scoring game despite both teams having kept numerous clean sheets.’

The Millers will be without injured pair Mickel Miller and Will Grigg on Sunday but will have Richard Wood back after suspension. It is hopeful that Ollie Rathbone will be back after missing the win at Wimbledon in mid-week with a back spasm while new boys Georgie Kelly and Arsenal loanee  Jordi Osei-Tutu  are likely to be in the travelling squad.

Darren Drysdale from Lincolnshire has the whistle for this game.
