Rotherham United and Birmingham City meet at the New York Stadium today which is nineteenth place taking on the team in twenty-second place.

This is the Millers third home game in five days with them winning against Queens Park Rangers but losing to fellow strugglers Coventry City on Tuesday night.

Birmingham’s last game was a home win against Stoke City with their last away game being a goalless draw at Brentford. The Blues last away win was at Hillsborough in February beating the Owls one-nil.

No new injuries for the Millers but again Manager Paul Warne will want to rotate some of the players so it could be that those who started on the bench on Thursday night could be in the starting eleven today.

Warne told the Yorkshire Post that his Rotherham side are three wins away from what would probably have kept them up last time they were in the Championship saying his lads know they are in a ‘real scrap’ but hopes their character will shine through. ‘If I’d been a fan and watched on Thursday then I’d have hugely disappointed, but, hopefully we can perform at a level on Sunday which makes everyone feel good about the team again.’

City’s Manager Lee Bowyer who has seen his side get ten points since he took over in mid-March will be without creative midfielders Alen Halilovic, who has an ankle injury, and Jon Toral who is out for the rest of the season with a hamstring problem. Also a doubt is Jonathan Leko.

Speaking to BirminghamLive Bowyer said that he realises it’s been difficult for the Millers having games so near together but that they will be more rested against his City side having had an extra day between matches saying, ‘I think they will be fine and look a bit sharper on Sunday than they did on Thursday when they looked tired. They are a good side and like every team have their strengths and weaknesses. But we’ve got to focus on what we are going to do and cause them some problems.’

Today’s Referee is Tim Robinson from West Sussex.
