Rotherham United Goalkeeper Josh Vickers has turned down the offered deal from the Millers and has decided to join Derby County when his contract at the New York Stadium ends on the 1st July.

Josh joined the Millers in November 2020 from Lincoln City, originally to take over from Lewis Price but always had Viktor Johansson in front of him, as well, at some stage, Jamal Blackman. His first two games was in the Football League Trophy the following season, his first league game seeing him keep a clean sheet in a goalless draw at home to Wycombe Wanderers in October 2021.

All-in-all Josh made thirty appearances in a Rotherham shirt, five of those this season, his Championship debut coming when Johansson got injured in April. In his third game Josh himself succumbed to injury and had to be replaced after just forty-five minutes.

Signing for his former manager Paul Warne Josh has signed a three year deal with the Rams.

All at Vital Rotherham wish Josh ‘all the best’ with his new club.
