Rotherham United have brought back Jonson Clarke-Harris for his second spell with the Millers – subject to ratification from the FA and EFL.
The Leicester born striker came through the youth ranks with Coventry City who he played just once for in a Carling Cup game. In 2012 he signed for Peterborough having two loan spells while with Posh at Southend United and Bury before signing for Oldham Athletic in 2013 making eighty-five appearances, scoring thirteen goals.
1st September 2015 JCH arrived at the New York Stadium scoring three goals in thirteen appearances in his first season before having loan spells with MK Dons and Doncaster Rovers . He scored half-a-dozen goals in thirty seven appearances in the 2015/16 season but an injury in pre-season the following season saw him out injured until the last seven games. He managed just one goal in the first half of 2016/17 season, which was in the Football League Trophy, before going out on loan to Coventry City helping them to the League Two Play-Off final where he came off the bench in their three-one victory.
He signed a deal with Coventry playing the first half of the season before moving to Bristol Rovers at the end of the January transfer window and scored twenty-seven times in fifty-two games. The striker moved on again in August 2020 this time back to Peterborough helping them to promotion to the Championship in his first season and to two more play-off semi-finals. All in all he made one hundred and ninety appearances for Posh scoring eighty-seven goals -thirteen of those goals coming in forty-three games.
Since his time with the Millers Jonson has won the EFL League One Player of the Year, the EFL Golden Boot has twice been in the PFA League One Team of the Year and EFL League One team of the Year as well as winning accolades with his clubs.
