So, the sun has been shining, there have been storms but what has been happening with Rotherham United in the last couple of weeks?

To be honest there hasn’t been that much happening with any comings or goings – but with International games and friendlies being played, we were probably a little naïve to think there would be.

There have been rumours of course – mostly about Chieo Ogbene who could be off to Hillsborough (would we be surprised? Disappointed, yes, but not surprised I don’t think) or maybe to Ipswich Town.

The Millers have finalised their pre-season friendly game and entertain Middlesbrough on Wednesday 19th July at the New York Stadium with a 7pm kick-off.

After arriving at the New York Stadium from Exeter in October 2022 Jon Hill, the  first team/development coach left the club by mutual consent with that job needing filling before the season. Other job vacancies that have come up are ‘Head of Football Operations’ and ‘Commercial Administrator and Sales Support’.

Over six thousand five hundred season tickets have been sold for the coming campaign

Conor Coventry, who played sixteen times for Rotherham last season, went with his parent club West Ham United for the Europa Conference League which the Hammers won and Conor received a medal after playing in the earlier rounds for the club.

The new home kit came out – obviously sticking with red and white (!) – with Jordan Hugill proudly showing that it has the ‘Rotherham Hospice logo’ across the front. On the reverse ‘Burrows Toyota’ has been added.

The summer break for the first team will end on Monday, 26th June when they report back to the training ground to start their preparations for the 2023/24 season . . . which makes the new season coming that bit closer.
