Millers Sign Thompson

|

Rotherham United have brought in Adam Thompson with Millers Manager Paul Warne telling the Official Site that he hopes it will bring more competition for the defenders.

The twenty-six year old came through the Youth ranks with Watford playing a number of first teams games for them while also having loan spells with Brentford, Wycombe Wanderers, Barnet and Southend with him joining the Shrimpers on a permanent deal in August 2013. After making more than one hundred appearances for Southend Adam moved to Bury in the summer of 2017 and that season had a short loan spell with Bradford City. Last season he played fifty-four times for the Shakers scoring a couple of goals helping them to promotion to League One.

Adam has played games for Northern Ireland at various levels which includes making his debut for the first team in February 2011.

Warne said that he thought his defence needed cover and although Adam is a ‘little rusty’ he’s not in ‘bad fettle’ saying that if he ever chose to play with three centre-halves he now can.

All at Vital Rotherham welcome Adam to the New York Stadium.
