‘Keeper Signs In

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne has finally got his man and brought in goalkeeper Daniel Iversen on loan from Premier League side Leicester City – subject to EFL, Premier League and FA ratification.

After leaving his homeland of Denmark, where he played as a youth for Esbjerg of the Superliga, the now twenty-one-year-old joined the Foxes Development Squad in January 2016. July last year saw him sign a new deal with Leicester meaning he will be at the King Power Stadium until 2021.

Daniel is not new to going out on loan having spent last season with League Two side Oldham Athletic where he played forty-nine games in all competitions. In fact, a few weeks ago, Daniel told Read Leicester was up for another loan move this coming season.

Daniel has played for Denmark at U16, U17, U18, U19, U20 and U21 levels – his last two U21’s being earlier this month (June) in the Euro U21 Championships.

This is very much a loan like we had with Marek Rodak for the last two seasons, who was on loan from Fulham, a young man who is being kept out of his parent clubs’ first team by an extremely good ‘keeper – with Daniel it’s Kasper Schlemiel.

All at Vital Rotherham welcome Daniel to the New York Stadium.
