Football Will Return But Will It Be Behind Closed Doors?

Football, which has come to a standstill because of the coronavirus, will return,  the deputy general secretary of European Leagues said today but said Alberto Colombo it will ‘no doubt’ be behind closed doors.

Saying it is still impossible to say when the season will re-start, Mr Colombo carried on, ‘The priority so far has been on focusing on creating conditions to be able to resume competition during the summer should we be able. There’s no doubt it will be behind closed doors, so the competition organisers have to develop medical protocols, training protocols, match-operation protocols.’

I think it is going to be as difficult to get a training regime worked out as it is to get the season underway again. The most important thing is that the players health comes first quickly followed by the club’s staff all of who will need to be tested for the virus.

Mr Colombo says that when the season does commence again it will ‘no doubt be behind closed doors.’

I actually think that would depend on when the season begins again. If we are on lock-down for another month then the season might start in July – would it then be behind closed doors I wonder? Perhaps Mr Colombo knows more about all this than we do and could it be that we might be out of lock-down by the summer but advised to not gather in large groups?

As far as I can see everything is still very much up in the air and although UEFA are set to hold a video meeting next week I still don’t think there can be a decision until the world is back to ‘normal’.

Keep Safe.

Up The Millers.

I dont think the world will get back to normal for a long time.Dont like the idea of games being played with no fans sounds crap to me how are players going to feel winning promotion iin a empty ground wow what a feeling same for fans. Im now leaning towards the season finishing now I no some teams just outside the promotion poitions wont like but they should have played better shoudnt they caz. i know some people wont agree but thatsthe way i feel a very bored stiff C.I.L.

Oh dear, CinL, being bored stiff isn’t good and, like you, I think it’s going to be a long time before we are back to normality. The problem I see with the season finishing now is that some teams have games in hand and I’m not sure how that would work? Take care.
