Rotherham United start their Cup campaign for 2021/2 when they take on Accrington Stanley in the first round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday when Will Finnie from Luton is in the middle.

Will is in his third year as a referee and this will be the first time he has taken charge of a Millers’ game.

He qualified in 2009, reffing in the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division moving to the National League for the 2018/19 season. The 2019/20 season saw him promoted to the Football League and last season he was in the middle for thirty-three games showing ninety-two yellow cards and five red ones.

His game on Saturday saw him in the middle for the Charlton Athletic v Sheffield Wednesday where he showed four yellow cards – one to the home side and three for the visitors.
