Rotherham United play their second game of the week away from home on Saturday when they travel to the Swansea.com Stadium to take on Swansea City when Leigh Doughty from Lancashire has the whistle.

This will be the third time Leigh has been in the middle for a Millers game this season the last one being a Tuesday night in February when Rotherham took a four minute lead thanks to Christ Tiehi at the New York Stadium against Hull City. Two second half goals in four minutes saw City win the game two-one. Leigh showed three yellow cards that night two to Tiehi and Seb Revan for the hosts. The first was in September at the Cardiff City Stadium when second half goals from Kion Etete and Perry Ng saw the hosts get all three points.

Leigh was in the middle for three Millers game last season the first being in September when Watford were the visitors to the New York Stadium. Richard Wood put Rotherham in front on just two minutes but the Hornets equalised through Vakoun Issouf Bayo on the thirty-third minute. Wes Harding, Lee Peltier and Ben Wiles saw yellow for the Millers that afternoon. He then reffed us away at Turf Moor in November where Ben Wiles opened the scoring for Rotherham on three minutes. Jay Rodriguez equalised for Burnley before Chieo Ogbene put the visitors back in front just after the hour mark before the Millers found themselves down to ten men after Cohen Bramall got two yellow cards in seven minutes. Rotherham hung on against the league leaders until time added on when Manuel Benson got an equaliser and on the one hundredth minute Halil Dervisoglu got on the end of a rebound to win the game. His last game at the New York Stadium was in April that season which saw Luton Town were the visitors. Former Miller Carlton Morris put the Hatters in front on the stroke of half-time with Cauley Woodrow scoring two minutes into the second half to give the visitors the win.

Before this Leigh had the whistle for a Millers game in December 2020 when Bristol City were the visitors to the New York Stadium which saw an early goal from Matt Crooks and another four minutes before half-time from Michael Smith giving the hosts all three points. Matt Olosunde and Jamie Lindsay saw yellow that afternoon. Earlier that season he was in charge of our home game against Millwall which the visitors won one-nil.

Leigh has been in charge of other Millers game the first being in January 2020 at the New York Stadium which saw Bristol Rovers the visitors. Three second half goals from Kyle Vassell, Michael Smith and Chieo Ogbene saw the hosts get all three points with Matt Crooks being the only Millers yellow carded in the game. He was also at the New York Stadium the following month when MK Dons were the visitors. Freddie Ladapo put the Millers one up on the ten minute mark but twelve minutes later Rhys Healey equalised for the visitors with the game ending one-all in a game which saw Richard Wood and Matthew Olosunde booked.

In the twenty-seven games he has been in the middle for this season Leigh has shown one hundred and eighteen yellow cards and three red.

Running the line on Saturday we have Blake Antrobus and Andrew Dallison while the Fourth Official will be James Linington.
