Any More Movement Before The Window Closes?

|

Rotherham United have delved just once into this the current transfer window fetching in Hakeeb Adelakun but are there any more on the way?

We are more than halfway through the transfer window and, in social media and at matches Rotherham United have been linked with this player and that – one being winger/right-back Ben Marshall who apparently turned us down (?) and is now with West Lancashire Division One side Stoneclough. I need to ask the question ‘why’? Yes, I know the lad was born in or around the area but again I ask ‘why’? What have Stoneclough got that we haven’t? Surely they can’t have offered him more than we could – although, I suppose, to be fair he’s more or less sure to get game time with them.

I’ve also heard other names of strikers/wingers being bandied about around the ground who we are supposed to be interested in. Again I ask ‘why’? We’ve got quite a few strikers on the books enough that top scorer Freddie Ladapo has to start on the bench – I don’t think we need more strikers. And wingers, we have wingers we don’t play so can these fans in the know really be ‘in the know’ at all?

Millers Manager Paul Warne has said on more than one occasion that he is happy with the group of lads he’s got and if he doesn’t get any more in then it will be OK with him. Personally I’d like to see another defender – or two – join to quell the playing squad.

There have also been rumours that we will find it difficult to hang onto the likes of Dan Barlaser and Matthew Olosunde – I really want to dismiss these rumours but, in my head, I’m not sure I can. Barlaser is only on loan with us and belongs to Newcastle United who obviously didn’t want him back when the window opened or surely he’d have gone by now? But, might they change their minds before the window closes. I’d be very surprised if Olosunde went anywhere – then again, football does surprise us all the time doesn’t it.

So, will there be any movement either way at the New York Stadium before the 31st January?

Maybe yes, maybe no but one thing I do know is it’s going to be a long nine days.
