Rotherham United defender Angus MacDonald told Radio Sheffield that today’s loss at home to Reading was ‘hugely frustrating’.

Speaking after the Millers lost one-nil this afternoon the twenty-eight year old said, ‘We had our chances but the luck we’ve got at the moment it probably goes in one end but not the end we want it to go in. And when the luck isn’t on your side you have to dig deeper and the lads are doing that.’

After Clark Robertson went off early in the first half with a hamstring injury the team shape had to be changed with players out of position which Angus said, ‘I’d got Wes (Harding) along side me who isn’t a natural centre-half against a team who have some real quality players he stood up to the task and did well. I thought we kept them quiet at times and if you look at the last games against the teams in the top six we have always been in the game and I don’t think you can fault the effort. We just need that bit of luck that other teams are getting.

‘We’ve got fifteen big games left in what has been a long season and there are still plenty of points to be picked up.’

After a number of chances went begging today the former Reading Academy player said, ‘that is something we are definitely going to have to work on and hopefully put that right for the game on Wednesday.’

You do need some luck in this game but you have to make your own luck which, to be fair, with the chances we have been having it has been happening.

Fifteen big games starting on Wednesday night – another game live on Sky TV. Another game we really need to get something out of.
