The Stats – Millers v Robins

|

Rotherham United became the first team throughout the Football League to ship sixty away goals in their two-nil loss away against Bristol City on Saturday.

But what do the stats tell us?

The Millers had just thirty per cent of possession at Ashton Gate while winning forty-four per cent of the aerial duels and forty-two per cent duels all over the pitch. Off the seven corners on Saturday Rotherham won three.

Our passing accuracy over all the pitch came out as seventy-two per cent while in our opponents half fifty-eight per cent – City’s was seventy-seven per cent – while our crossing accuracy was three per cent better than the home side at thirty-six per cent.

In attack we had six shots on goal, five of those inside the area, of which two were on target while the Robins had five on target from thirteen shots.

Defence-wise our tackle success rate came out at fifty-per cent, City’s fourteen per cent better. We gave away ten fouls City half as many and we were shown two yellow cards to the hosts’ one.

Would have been great to fetch something home from Ashton Gate but it wasn’t to be. Does that make our first away game of the season next season a biggie? One we have to win? What do you think?
