Warne ‘You’ve Got To Look After Your Own House’

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne told iFOLLOW that he’s looking forward to the final months of the season.

‘There are going to be lots of changes within the top six,’ the Gaffer said, ‘with teams outside that trying to get in as well. But we will prepare the lads the same way and we aren’t going to get too distracted by outside noise. You’ve just got to look after your own house and hopefully we’ll have enough to finish in the top two.

‘It’s an exciting end to the season.’

Looking at the teams who are in the top six plus two or three others that could well make the play-off positions, I think Warney is right it is going to be an exciting end to the season – though, I suppose, that depends how you define exciting!

I, for one, would love to go up but I’d like to do it being able to sit and watch the play-off scrap from the outside and not actually be in it. Yes, a trip to Wembley is always good – unless you lose of course.

As the Gaffer says we’ve just got to concentrate on ourselves and not look at what’s going on around us – although, can we actually do that? When the big screen shows that a team around us are winning then the inevitable groan goes up from the crowd.

I just think there are a lot of us who are going to be walking around with lucky this and lucky that’s or wearing lucky clothes – because, of course, the players will automatically know when you have and haven’t got on yer lucky undies won’t they?!
