Warne Wants Five Or Six More New Players

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne has brought in two new players this summer – Mickel Miller last month and yesterday capturing midfielder Kieran Sadlier yesterday – but told the Official Site that he thinks they are still five or six short.

‘We need to strengthen in a few positions.’ the Gaffer said mentioning defensive cover.

Personally I do think that the next signing should be a goalkeeper – with last season’s loanee Daniel Iversen going out on loan to Belgian First Division A side Oud-Heverlee Leuven he isn’t now an option which a lot of us Millers thought might be.

Before Iversen the Millers had Marek Rodak for two seasons who helped Fulham into the Premier League at the beginning of this month. So, I would imagine that Rotherham will be on the look out for another young ‘keeper from either the Premier League or Championship but with those leagues not finishing until late due to the coronavirus this might not be as easy as it has been in the past.

So, could it be that the Millers will be looking elsewhere – nearer or further away? We will have to wait and see but, as the new season is just a month away, I really hope we get someone in the number one slot sooner rather than later.

The Gaffer says he is also looking for cover at left-back, centre-back and someone ‘up the middle’.

I’m sure – no I know – that Warney will have this in hand and have players on the radar – but we all know he likes to get players in with time for them to settle into the squad and all I’m saying is it’s getting closer to 12th September.
