Warne Wanted ‘Another Chieo’

|

Rotherham United have got the ‘right’ man by fetching in Mickel Miller this week. Who says? Millers Manager Paul Warne that’s who and I, for one, wouldn’t expect anything else from a Warney player.

Speaking to the Official Site the Gaffer said that him and his coaches had looked at many games with Warney’s priority being a left-footed winger which he’s now got.

‘I wanted a player similar to Chieo,’ the Millers Boss said, ‘but on the opposite side and who is happy to go outside a player and cross on his strong foot while being able to drive inside and create.

‘I wanted a player similar to Chieo but on the opposite side who is happy to go outside a player and cross on his strong foot while being able to drive inside and create,’ Warne said. ‘They are both wingers, who want to take on full backs, predominantly down the outside.’

And in twenty-four year old Miller he thinks he has this. And, from a fans point of view, if he’s as good as Chieo Ogbene then we will be more than happy.

Asked how he had got Mickel to agree to sign, Warney said, ‘We had meetings with him on FaceTime when we showed him  clips of what we think he can do and where we think he can improve. And we will try to make him realise how difficult it is to come and play for us, whilst reiterating that the rewards are there.’

It must be difficult for the recruitment lads and the Manager trying to get players in in the times we are living at the moment. One thing I’m pleased about is that at least we got to know what league we were playing in quite early on so the Gaffer could ‘sell’ that division to any potential players.

Up The Millers.
