Vital Rotherham’s Man of the Month for August is – well are – Victor Johansson and Dexter Lembikisa – both players having the same number of votes and also one Man of the Match votes each.
Goalkeeper Viktor (The Viking) joined the Millers in 2020 and soon became Rotherham’s number one racking up his one hundredth appearance in our two-all home draw with Blackburn Rovers this season. He was voted Man of the Match in the first game of the season which is probably one he would want to forget, away at Stoke.
Dexter is on loan to the Millers from Wolves and made five appearances in August, the right-back being in the starting line-up for four of those games. He got his Man of the Match vote in our home game against Leicester City. This young man has got better with each game he’s been involved in and has fast become a Millers’ Fan
Our first Carabao Cup game of the season saw Fred Onyedinma get the vote while Hakeem Odoffin and Ollie Rathbone were joint Men of the Match in our game against Blackburn Rovers. Away at Sunderland also saw a double Man of the Match go out to Tyler Blackett and, again, Hakeem Odoffin while Cafu got the vote in the Cup disaster away at Stoke.
That makes seven different players in eight games (two of the games having joint winners) who have been our Man of the Match – to me that can’t be bad can it?
