For the second time in four days Rotherham United let a goal lead slip to end up losing – this time against Queens Park Rangers.
But what about those stats?
The Millers had thirty-five per cent of possession with the hosts winning out in the duels – getting fifty-five per cent in all duels and fifty-seven per cent in the ones in the air. There were nine corners in the game all of them going the way of QPR.
Our passing accuracy, overall, came out at seventy-one per cent and sixty-three per cent in our opponents half, Rangers’ being eleven per cent more.
In attack the Millers had fourteen shots at goal, nine of those from inside the box, and four on target while Rangers had nine on target from eighteen shots.
We made twenty-one tackles ten more than our opponents with our tackle rate being eighty-one per cent. We conceded seventeen fouls, eight more than Rangers, and there were five yellow cards in the game, one of those going to Rotherham.
I think it was a couple of mistakes that cost us the goals today – we were well on top in the first half, even though, Rangers had more of the play, we didn’t really look shaky. But, let’s be honest here, they were never going to come out the same for the second half and we didn’t seem to be able to take that fact into consideration.
Back at home next Saturday and it’s a South Yorkshire derby – surely, surely if we play like we did on Tuesday night and the first half against QPR we can get something.
