Rotherham United captain Sean Morrison echoed his Head Coach Leam Richardson about Saturday’s loss away to Queens Park Rangers saying it was disappointing not to hold onto the lead.

‘It’s the fourth game in a row that we’ve started very well and to come away with no points again is disappointing,’ the Millers defender told Radio Sheffield after the two-one loss saying, ‘one-nil up at half-time and we were happy with where we were at but we knew that QPR would come out and give more in the second half.

”We fight to try and win games but it’s a tough league and if you don’t take your chances you get punished. We want to win games, get points on the board, you don’t work so hard week in, week out, to turn up and lose a game.

The Millers haven’t been able to train at their Parkgate Training ground for a while now due to pitch issues with Sean saying that it’s not helping their cause. ‘But,’ he carried on, ‘regardless of what we have this group of lads we have here make the most of it because it’s not going to change. We just have to put our boots on and get on with it as we have done over and over again.

‘Whatever happens, and I’ve been in many changing rooms, this group of boys won’t throw the towel in. And I wouldn’t be surprised if a few of the boys who are here now are going to be here next year.’

I wonder who will be here next season? I would think the manager will be one of them and his coaching staff – but which players will stay if we go into League One? Who will we need to sell to get players in to push us next season? Will we be able to match what other clubs think our players are worth and keep them? Only time, as they say, will tell.
