The Stats – Millers v ‘Boro

Rotherham United got a one-all draw away at Middlesbrough yesterday.

But what do the stats say?

Possession wise the Millers had thirty per cent and we won fifty-two percent of all duels, forty-one per cent of those in the air.

Of the fifteen corners in the game Rotherham had just two. Our passing accuracy over came out at sixty-six per cent with forty-one per cent success in our opponents half – ‘Boro had seventy-six per cent. Our crossing accuracy was twenty-two per cent which was thirteen per cent more than the hosts.

Attack wise we had six shots at goal, three from inside the box, of which two were on target. Middlesbrough had three on target from fifteen shots.

In defence our tackle success rate came out at sixty-three per cent, fourteen per cent worse than our opponents. Both sides committed eight fouls with the Millers getting three yellow cards to ‘Boro’s one.

I wasn’t displeased with the performance yesterday.  At times, more in the second half admittedly and probably after we went in front, we had an air of confidence about us and even after the equaliser we did try and play more forward balls.  Can’t say anyone had a particularly bad performance yesterday and there were one or two who were definitely on their game.
