Golden Point For Richardson

Rotherham United Head Coach Leam Richardson said that any point away from home at this level ‘is golden’ after this afternoons away draw.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield after the one-all draw against Middlesbrough the Millers Boss said, ‘I thought the lads worked terrifically hard. It’s been a tough week with the weather and so to take in throughout the week what we’ve told them and to come here to a challenging place with a team who are doing really well for large parts of the game I thought we were really competitive.

‘I thought the game panned out how we thought it would but I’m just disappointed with the goal we conceded. Probably the disappointing thing is once you do take the lead you want to impose yourself on the counter. Every goal can be avoided but you can’t deny the commitment and output of the team. What you’ve got to do is make sure when it’s your bits of pressure and your actions in the game that you are clean with them which is something we are improving on. And when you’ve got to defend you have to make sure you enjoy the challenge.’

Any injuries from the game? Cohen Bramall limped off in the first half and it seems he’s rolled his ankle (again) with Leam saying, ‘it’s not too serious.’

And about any new bodies coming in? ‘We are trying our best to make positive decisions for the football club’.
