Rotherham United winger Ryan Williams was disappointed that things didn’t go as the team wanted at Plymouth but was pleased with the win on Saturday.

Speaking to iFOLLOW the Australian said, ‘The win has taken us into the semi-final of the play-offs full of confidence.

‘The Gaffer had asked for a good performance and for about seventy-five minutes I think he got it but it was tough because the weather was quite warm*. I think we should have scored more.

‘Every player on the pitch needed to put in a good performance because we’re all fighting for our position. But, the boys who don’t play will definitely pushing those on that do play from the bench.

‘It was good to finish in fourth, it was chalk and cheese compared to last season. I think we probably could have even made third if we’d not slipped up a little bit. But maybe that’s just me being a little bit negative. But I’m really pleased with how the season went.’

The Millers having won both games against Scunthorpe this season, the twenty-four year old said, ‘I don’t think we should look at the last two games. Both teams are in good form and we just need to look at what we’ve done well, what we can improve on and take that forward.

‘We’re fitter than anyone which has probably got us where we are and we’ve got to keep using that strength.’

*only an Australian could have called Saturday ‘quite warm’!
