Well, I suppose it was bound to happen. Barnsley and Simon Davey part company by ‘mutual consent’ and the rumour mongers start linking Rotherham United Manager, Mark Robins, with the vacant seat.

The Tykes and Davey parted on Saturday evening after their defeat against Reading at Oakwell which leaves them with just one point from five games and in the bottom three of the Championship.

And, EatSleepSport has put Robins in the frame for the job.

Speaking to The Star, Barnsley director, Don Rowing said, ‘Simon (Davey) did his best for the club but we had a lengthy discussion on Saturday evening and it was agreed to part ways.’ And, Mr Rowing finished by saying, ‘We have been inundated with inquiries over the weekend.’
