Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, it has been reported, was on good form last night, even though he had been told earlier that the club might go into administration which might mean them losing ten points.

Speaking at the Trust meeting last night, he said, ‘I got the players and staff together and explained the situation to them. All they were concerned about was the possibility of losing ten points – nothing was said about money, just about promotion. I said to them, you’re concerned about losing ten points? I don’t know why you’re worried about that, you’ve just thrown fifteen away!’

He told The Star that he was heartened by the players response because they hadn’t talked about wages but only about getting promotion.

‘It’s difficult times and we will only get through this by sticking together – that’s players, supporters and anyone connected with the club.

‘Negativity is the worst thing that we could have now – we have to do what we can and ensure all the hard work doesn’t go to waste. We have to be positive. The lads will be giving one hundred per cent and I am sure we will get an upturn in our form.

‘Get behind them and the club.’
