The Referee chosen to officiate Saturday’s game between Rotherham United and Lincoln City at Millmoor is….

MR NIGEL S MILLER FROM WITTON GILBERT IN COUNTY DURHAM.

Nigel, born on 5th March 1960, started Refereeing in 1989.
This is his 5th season on the National list of Referees as he was elected on for the 2003-2004 season, following 4 seasons as a Football League assistant Ref.

He has taken charge of 3 previous Rotherham games, all being home defeats for us, hopefully a change will follow for the Lincoln game.
The first time was the 3-1 defeat by Derby County on 19th February 2005 and just 1 yellow card was issued, this being to Jamal Campbell-Ryce.
The second time was on 31st March 2007 and a 2-0 home defeat by Bournemouth in which 2 players saw yellow.
Rotherham’s Ian Henderson and Bournemouth’s Josh Gowling.
Finally, the Penalty shoot-out defeat by Grimsby Town in the Johnstone Paints Trophy on October 9th 2007.
No cards were issued in this game.

So far this season Nigel has taken charge of 25 games, showing yellow 47 times (1.88 per game) and 5 reds.
The latest red was shown to Sc**thorpe’s Cliff Byrne in their 1-0 away victory over Preston on Boxing Day.

    With the ref being called Miller and having a Man from Uncle as the linesman we can’t go wrong!
