After this game was postponed at the beginning of March, I thought we might have got away with this….

The man in charge of our game at Don Valley on Tuesday night will need to introduction to Rotherham United. Trevor Kettle left many Millers fans fuming in November 2005 at our game at Oakwell. He booked three Barnsley players, five Rotherham players as well as sending off Deon Burton on fifty-six minutes, Lee Williamson on eighty five minutes and Colin Murdock after the final whistle. He also sent Millers manager, Mick Harford to the stand. And, to those who can’t quite remember, it wasn’t a dirty game!

Mr Kettle started refereeing in 1983 (so you really think he’d have got the hang of it by now, wouldn’t you …) and got on the National List of Assistant Referees in 1998. In 2003 he was promoted to the National List of Referees. In 2002 he was an assitant for the Worthington Cup Final and Community Sheild games. He was the fourth official for the League One Play Off Final in 2007.

In the thirty-two games he’s been in charge of this season he has given out ninety-eight yellow cards and ten red cards.

I’m sure Mr Kettle will get a welcome from all Millers fans at Don Valley tomorrow evening!

Assisting Mr Kettle will be

A Smith from West Yorkshire and JR Tyas from West Yorkshire

The fourth official will be

M Brown from East Yorkshire
