Rotherham United Goalkeeper Richard O’Donnell is pleased to be back between the posts after having to ‘battle’ it out with Lewis Price this season.

Joining the Millers in January from Bristol City Richard played seven games before injury forced him out but due to illness to Price he has started the last two games.

‘I’m feeling good and it’s nice to be back in the team,’ the twenty-nine year old told The Rotherham Advertiser. ‘I thought I played well on Friday and against Reading and am trying to cement my place in the team.

‘When there are two senior ‘keepers battling it out it’s hard. If you’re the one not playing then it is difficult.

‘You train so you are fit and sharp when you are called upon and I’ve been working hard since I got back from injury. Hopefully that’s showing.

‘Of course it would be lovely to get a clean sheet or two before the end of the season. But it is difficult to keep clean sheets generally in the Championship because of the quality of the attacking players you are up against, so you have to treasure them when you do get them.

‘In general in the last two games our shape and organisation has been brilliant and that’s something we need to build on and try to nick a few more goals.’
