Rotherham United striker Danny Ward admits that the misses this season have been playing on his mind.

Speaking to David Beddows of The Rotherham Advertiser Ward said, ‘In the last few games I’ve had quite a few chances and it’s frustrating. But I’ve not got to let it affect me too much because in the past it has got to the point where I have put so much pressure on myself.’

Danny scored in the Good Friday game against Birmingham which was his twelfth goal of the season, but only his third since the start of the year.

‘As a striker your job is to put the ball in the back of the net and if you do that in the amount of games I went through without scoring you are constantly putting more pressure on yourself.

‘I put them in the back of the net in training without even thinking about it but in games you know how much it means and you start thinking about it too much. So it was really good to get back on the score sheet.’

Asked about next season, Danny said, ‘I am just concentrating on this season and making sure we get some wins on the board and some pride out of it.’
