Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne had nothing but praise for his three substitutes on Tuesday night.

Just before the hour mark Jon Taylor and Jerry Yates replaced Caolan Lavery and Anthony Forde and seven minutes later Matty Palmer came on for Richard Wood.

Speaking to iFOLLOW Warney said, ‘It will be a squad effort to get us where we want to be and they came off the bench and did well.

‘And that’s testament to them that when they’re not in the team they have to keep going. They all had a good impact and put positive things in my brain for the weekend.’

Saying it had been difficult to get into the starting eleven because of how well the Millers had been playing, the Millers Boss said, ‘Michael Ihiekwe was probably our best player at the start of the season and he came on the other week at left-back and did really well.

‘Ryan Williams has started most of the games but was an unused sub on Tuesday. But I could go through the whole squad.’

‘All the lads want to play and they are all fit and ready to play. Now it’s my unenviable task to pick them.’

Of course, I think as fans, we’ve also got to give some praise to our Manager who picked the bench then picked which subs to put on. OK we didn’t win the game but things did seem to pick up a little when Taylor etc came on.
