Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne says that despite the last two defeats the Millers are still on track.

Starting the last two games in fourth place in League One, after two narrow defeats, Rotherham are still in fourth place going into the game on Saturday at Northampton.

‘Ridiculous as it sounds I think we scored too early on Tuesday night,’ the Millers Boss told iFOLLOW . ‘That took the pressure off them and they probably thought they’d nothing to lose and had a really good thirty minute spell.

‘I think it’s fair to say I wasn’t best pleased with our first half performance but the lads were significantly better in the second half. Semi (Ajayi) brought off a great save from their ‘keeper, Jerry (Yates) came on and had a header saved with Tayls (Jon Taylor) coming on and he got himself a goal.

‘All in all I was hugely disappointed with the result but watching it back there was some good stuff.

‘Scoring two goals away from home should be enough to get you something but, regrettably, the five attempts they had on goal saw three go in and that needs addressing.’

Warney seemed pretty pleased with the team going forward on Tuesday night but, in my humble opinion, I think he really needs to be looking at the defence. I like Josh Emmanuel but he wasn’t at the races on Saturday against Rochdale and Warney brought back Shaun Cummings for Tuesday night – was he any better? No disrespect to Richard Wood but he’s not as young as he was and not as quick either to get back. Semi Ajayi, on his good days, is unbeatable. The last couple of games weren’t the best for Semi, who I think the Millers rely on a lot.

Will there be changes on Saturday? We’ll just have to wait and see.
