Rotherham United’s Assistant Manager Richie Barker told the Rotherham Advertiser that former Miller Ben Pringle could still be a target.

‘Ben Pringle has been mentioned because he’s played for the club before and Warney got on well with him,’ Richie said.

‘So would it be a possibility? I think it would be a difficult one to get through but if an opportunity arose and it was something everyone wanted to do then you never know.’

Prings was with the Millers from 2011 to 2015 making around one hundred and fifty appearances in a Rotherham shirt including the Wembley Play-Off Final that took the Millers to the Championship.

From the New York Stadium he moved to Fulham and in July 2016 signed a three year deal with Preston North End who he played fourteen times for last season, his last game being in December.

What do you think? Would you welcome Prings back with open arms or would you stand back and think a while?

I don’t know. I never thought he was good enough for the Championship but, of course, we are now back in League One. Hmm

He has a certain talent with crossing a ball in that made him good for us but he made players nervous because he could never win any kind of challenge
