Rotherham United Head Coach Leam Richardson told Radio Sheffield that he was disappointed with the result last night.

The Millers took an early lead in the evening game at home to Hull City but the visitors hit back in the second half to take all three points.

‘I thought the way we started the game was excellent,’ Leam said. ‘We were on the front foot and for the neutral it was probably a good game. We had a bit of a mad ten minutes in the second half that cost us.

‘It’s fine margins. Viktor made a couple of saves early on, young Sam Nombe misses a big chance at one-nil and then a bit of a mad ten minutes in the second half that cost us. I’m never one to criticise mistakes or individual errors it’s how we react and grow as individuals and collectively as a team and for large parts we went toe-to-toe with a good team.

‘Our habits have got to stay strong and we’ve got to make sure we push each other forward. We’ve got to be positive, wear the shirt with pride and that’s not just at the games it’s in the week as well. There’s fifteen games left and we have to make sure in those fifteen games we give a good account of ourselves and the opposition know that they’ve been in a football game.

‘We’ll dust ourselves off, work hard and we have to make a fist of it and make sure that we give a good account of ourselves for the shirt every single time that we take to the pitch.

‘I think the Championship is the best it’s been for maybe twenty years and, as a football club, we are aware of that. We know where we are as a football club and we want to build and try to stay at this level and there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes.

‘I knew what I was walking into and how we want to be and that’s a work in progress. It would have been easy for me to shy away from this but that’s not my professionalism it’s something I believe that with the staff, players, owner we can move this football club forward.

‘As a club we are fully aware of where we are and we are fully aware of where we want to be.’

Asked about any new injuries the Boss said, ‘we have got a few bumps and bruises.’
