Quiet On The Rumours Front

Rotherham United were rumoured to be showing an interest in forward Joe Dodoo who joined Wigan in February this year signing a contract until the end of the season. But, the latest rumours are that Wigan have offered the twenty-five year old a new deal that he is thought to be mulling over.

Last week the Millers were linked with Paul Mullin of Cambridge United who racked up thirty-four goals for the League Two side this last season in all competitions. But, it seems, although he has been on Rotherham’s radar, a bid for him is unlikely to happen.

At this time there don’t seem to be any names on the lips of ‘the ones in the know’ regarding players coming to the New York Stadium.

Likewise there doesn’t seem to be any new interest in any of Rotherham United’s current squad. Although it seems Clark Robertson, who the Millers let go, has been seeing a lot of interest with Portsmouth and Aberdeen supposedly keeping an eye on him and Hapoel Jerusalem of Israel are the latest team to be linked with the centre-half.

We are nearly at the end of May and it could be that next month might get busier for the Rotherham management.

i am interested in , are rufc trying to keep their squad intact, with serious new deals ,or rather wait and see what is left just before the start of the next season ,and just fill places the best they can , a return to the championship , or stay in league one ,now is the time to decide ,

Jeff, your guess is as good as mine! I was quite alarmed when I read we probably wouldn’t be getting anyone in early but am sure we have ‘irons in the fire’ – whether those irons materialise is another matter.

Hi Dermot – if we aren’t going to be spending a lot of money on new recruitment then I’d like to see us bring our own players through or get in players who are going to stay around – and not get injured – long enough to go on a journey with us.
