Rotherham United welcome Queens Park Rangers to the New York Stadium for their next game in the Championship on Saturday.

The Millers come into this game on the back of a Monday night draw at Swansea having won their last home game against Sunderland two-one.

Rangers lost their game last weekend three-one to Blackburn at Loftus Road their last away game also being a three-one loss at Middlesbrough.

Sitting in twentieth place with thirty-seven points the Millers are two places and two points below Queens Park Rangers as this is written.

Matt Taylor the Millers Manager spoke to Radio Sheffield ahead of this game saying, ‘People were talking about QPR as promotion candidates at the start of the season and they have some good players which shows how difficult this league is with the difficulty they’ve had recently. But they now have a new manager in charge who we respect. I expect their fans to be loud and I hope our fans can replicate what they’ve done recently. There’s a feeling of positivity around the club and we are targeting that in our home performances. I hope it’s a good game of football.’

Shane Ferguson, Ollie Rathbone and Lee Peltier are all doubts for the hosts with the only real good news on the horizon is that both Domningos Quina could be back after the International break and Ben Wiles is expected back before the end of the season.

Gareth Ainsworth takes his first away game in charge since joining Queens Park Rangers a couple of weeks ago and he’s told the Official Site that it’s been a ‘busy week’ going on to say, ‘This is the most talented group of players I’ve ever worked with. Momentum is huge in football – that first win could be a real watershed moment for us. I know exactly what to expect from Rotherham who are a good footballing outfit and are experts at standing up in challenges and winning second balls. But I know the potential we have here and I believe that myself and my staff can unlock it.’

Queens Park Rangers are carrying a few knocks coming into this game and some of the injured players are nearing places in the squad but this week could come too soon for the likes of Ethan Laird, Sinclair Armstrong, Tyler Richards and Lyndon Dykes. Jake Clarke-Slater is definitely out and although Ilias Chair’s injury isn’t as bad as first thought after he limped off in the first half last weekend it’s unlikely he’ll be fit for this game.

The Referee for this game is Lancashire’s Darren Bond.
