Rotherham United are back on home soil for their next game in the Championship when Preston North End are the visitors.

Saturday saw the Millers get a two-nil defeat away at Birmingham City with City going above them in the table. Preston are sitting pretty in mid-table ten points and eight places above Rotherham.

Preston got a two-nil home win over Cardiff City at the weekend their last away game being a goalless draw and the last time they got three points from an away game was in mid January at St Andrew’s.

The Millers last home game was earlier this month and saw them win three-one against Queens Park Rangers.

Speaking to the Official Site Millers Manager Matt Taylor said, ‘We have to take Saturday’s second half performance into Tuesday night. We are back onto our home patch with our home comforts and we want make it really uncomfortable for Preston and put them under pressure.’

Matt Taylor isn’t expecting Bailey Wright or Ollie Rathbone to be fit before the International break and with Sean Morrison and Grant Hall also missing it looks like Tyler Blackett will be the only physical presence at the back.

Ryan Lowe Preston Manager told the Lancashire Post that he isn’t expecting an easy game, saying, ‘They (Rotherham) are fighting for points and we go there knowing it’s a tough place to go and we have to prepare right. If we can get back to back wins then brilliant but we know we have to work hard to get it.’

Despite having to have stitches in a face injury on Saturday North End’s goalkeeper Freddie Woodman should be fit for this game. Andrew Hughes will be assessed before the game but after serving a ban Liam Lindsay will be in the travelling squad as will Alan Browne who missed the game at the weekend due to the birth of his child.

The referee this evening is Stephen Martin from Staffordshire.
