Quick Preview – Millers Away At Huddersfield

|

Rotherham United take the short journey to the John Smith’s Stadium for the start of a busy week in the Championship where they will take on Huddersfield Town.

Huddersfield are eight points and three places better off than the Millers but are coming into this game on the back of a seven-nil defeat at Norwich in mid-week.  The Terriers are also not known for keeping clean sheets, only had one in 2021 and if teams below them do well and they lose on Saturday it would pull them into the precarious place of fourth from bottom.

Of course, the Millers have to win to make that happen and although their home form hasn’t been so hot they haven’t done too badly away from home getting six points from their last three away games.  But, like Town they have to do better than their last game which was a three-nil home defeat to bottom side Wycombe Wanderers.

Speaking to Huddersfield’s Official Twitter site, Head Coach Carlos Corberan said that after Tuesday’s big defeat it was difficult for everyone saying, ‘we can only give the right answer on the pitch on Saturday.’

Town will be without striker Oumar Niasse, possibly for the rest of the season and there seem to be doubts over Ryan Schofield while Pipa, Alex Vallejo Josh Koroma and Rolando Aarons will be checked before the game. Striker Fraizer Campbell should start after being on the bench on Tuesday night.

Millers Manager Paul Warne said it was disappointing to lose at home to Wycombe and this week, with all the games coming up, is a ‘pretty monumental week’, telling IFollow , ‘we do have to collect points in and around us and by Monday week we will have a good understanding of where we really are.’

The Millers will be without Clark Robertson, who has only managed thirteen appearances so far this season through a groin then foot injury and it will probably be too early for Joe Mattock whose been out since December after having ankle surgery Back in contention is skipper Richard Wood who served a one match suspension on Easter Monday.

In the middle for this game we have Lee Mason from Lancashire.
