‘Professional Performance’ Says Millers Boss

|

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne said he was ‘really pleased’ after today’s two-nil away win against Bolton Wanderers.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield the Millers Boss firstly thanked the travelling fans before saying he thought the players looked a bit leggy saying, ‘but all in all a clean sheet away from home and a couple of goals, though we could have had more, is very satisfying and I thought it was a really good end-to-end game.’

It was a fantastic first half with both teams looking to get on the score sheet and, thanks in main to Ben Wiles, the Millers did, twice in three minutes.

Saying the players were fatigued, probably suffering from a trip on Tuesday night, Warney said, ‘Chieo never got over eighty per cent of his top speed so I know he was struggling. But sitting back isn’t natural for us we are usually all out blazing. We left it three for three on the half-way line but it caused problems so we decided to just let the centre-halves have it and press from there.

‘All in all it was a professional performance and the players efforts over the last two games shouldn’t be underestimated.’

Talking about double scorer Wiles, Warney said,’He could have had a hat-trick and that would have been great for him.’

Four points from two away games is very good. And we know it could – probably should – have been more. Let’s hope we can carry this on for the next two home games.
